Our Matcha

Matcha has the power to elevate simple, everyday moments into something special.

At Mochi AN, we believe matcha isn’t just for rare occasions—it’s for daily enjoyment, adding richness and depth to your favorite drinks, desserts, and dishes. Our Matcha balances vibrant color, umami, and smoothness, making it perfect for both drinking and cooking—without compromise.

Our Matcha is sourced from Kyushu, Japan, where a highly skilled group of young tea farmers carefully craft it with a balance of tradition and innovation. Their dedication to craftsmanship and pursuit of excellence have earned them high recognition in the Japanese tea industry, ensuring that every batch meets the highest standards.

To achieve the ideal balance of aroma, depth, and smoothness, they carefully blend Tsuyuhikari, Saemidori, and Yabukita, selecting cultivars that enhance both the drinking and culinary experience. With their expertise and passion, they create matcha that seamlessly integrates into daily life, elevating both flavors and moments.

It’s about savoring the present—making the everyday just a little more beautiful.

Matcha Q&A

What is "Ceremonial matcha", and how is "Mochi AN Matcha" different?

A: Surprisingly, there is no official industry standard or certification for "Ceremonial Matcha." While the term is widely used, it is not regulated—meaning that what qualifies as ceremonial grade is ultimately determined by the producer or brand.

Generally, Ceremonial Matcha refers to matcha made from the first harvest of the season, stone-milled in the traditional way. Some Matcha is labeled as premium ceremonial when it is hand-picked, single-origin, or from a prestigious tea-growing region. However, since there is no universal grading system, the true quality of matcha depends on how it is grown, processed, and stored, rather than just the label.

At Mochi AN, we don't label our Matcha as ceremonial, but it is high-quality, carefully selected, and tested through our own use.

We confidently recommend it because we have personally worked with it, refined our selection, and know its flavors perform beautifully in both drinks and cooking for everyday enjoyment.

Can I use your Matcha for cooking? What does "Cooking Matcha" mean?

Absolutely! Cooking with Matcha isn’t just about adding it to a recipe—it’s about understanding how it interacts with different ingredients and cooking methods. The right matcha, preparation, and pairings all affect the final flavor.

There’s no single "Best Matcha" for every dish. Moreover, ceremonial matcha is neither traditionally appropriate nor economically practical for cooking—it was never meant for desserts or baked goods. That’s why we offer three distinct Matcha varieties, each suited for different uses.

To share our knowledge, we also host Matcha Cooking Workshops, teaching how to balance matcha’s flavors in food. If you want to explore matcha beyond drinking, our Matcha lets you cook with confidence and creativity—without compromising on quality.

How do I choose the right Matcha for me?

It depends on how you want to enjoy matcha! At Mochi AN, we offer three distinct Matcha varieties to suit different preferences:

Matsu - Aroma 🍵 (Deep umami & balance) → Best for lattes and rich desserts

Take - Bitter 🍫 (Refreshing bitterness & bold aroma) → Great for pairing with chocolate or baked goods

Ume - Light 🍪 (Smooth & approachable) → Perfect for pastries, ice cream, and everyday matcha drinks

If you're unsure which to choose, our Matcha Sample Pack (3 x 20g) is a great way to explore the differences before committing to a larger pack.
